Mackay Community Visitors Association needs your help
Mackay Community Visitors Association is a non-profit volunteer organisation that provides friendship to people in the community who are isolated and lonely.
People experience isolation for many reasons including poor mobility, illness, limited family contact, cultural or disability barrier, or simply fraily due to aging.
Mackay Community Visitors Association enhances the lives of those in our community who reside in aged care facilities and people who are still able to live in their own homes with help.

What do we do?
A person is referred to our organization and a suitable visitor is selected to visit that person. Each week/fortnight the visitor calls on their friend to share a cuppa, chat or an outing.

Mission statement
To establish a one-on-one friendship between a community visitor and a socially isolated person. To provide obvious enhancement to the life of the friend and encourage a feeling of achievement for the visitor.
Objectives of our organisation
To improve the quality of life of members of Mackay Community Visitors Association who are in need due to lack of social contact.

Volunteers are unpaid, not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless.
